Water!

Since being in Destin, Connor has discovered the most amazing and entertaining new thing....WATER. Whether it be the shower, pool, ocean, shooting fountains at the playground, or the hose. That was our saving grace while on vacation....water.

Vacation in Destin

We spent the last week vacationing in Destin with the Sparks'. The weather was perfect; sunny and 85 degrees everyday. We had a great time relaxing all week. Mike and my dad went golfing a few times while Connor and I went to the beach everyday and did enough shopping to last us a year (or last me a year at least!) Connor was a trooper all trip!

Sitting on the pot!

Connor has given new meaning to the phrase sitting on the pot. Isn't it funny how much money you spend on toys that play music and light up and then your kid wants to play with a round piece of metal? As I was making dinner, he spent about ten minutes trying to figure out how many different ways to play with it. I love the second picture because he looks like he's getting ready to do some type of back flip or swan dive. Notice the rosy cheeks....he got his first sunburn today! Who would have thought that my child would have been fair skinned?! I hope you enjoy the video!

Happy Spring

Spring is finally here! Despite the 3 feet of rain that was dumped on us this week, the weather has been pretty mild. We've been able to get out for a few walks and Connor just can't get enough of the outdoors. He finally ventured into the grass today for the first time after many thoughts, but no attempts. And yes, that is grass he's walking through though it looks more like a field of brocolli. No offense Mike! Mike and Connor were able to shoot their first game of basketball and I'm pretty sure Connor won!

Easter Egg Hunt

Connor went on his first Easter Egg hunt with his cousins Elle and Sam. He walked through the doors and instead of knocking the other kids over in a Connor-like fashion, he sat on the floor to play with the eggs. After we showed him what to do, he started putting them in his basket while calling them all balls. After he filled up his basket we headed out to the lobby where he saw the Easter Bunny. He didn't want to make eye contact although he did better than his last encounter at TriCounty Mall. I think the Easter Egg hunt was a hit.

Newport Aquarium

We finally made our way down to the Newport Aquarium this weekend. We wanted to take Connor for his birthday, but the timing wasn't the best. So even though we were a month late, we decided we had to stay true to our promise! It was so nice outside yesterday (minus the rain) that we didn't want to stay in all weekend anyways. When we first got there, Connor was more intersted in checking out all of the people (I think that may be inherited from his mom!)that I'm not sure he even noticed the fish. He warmed up about half way through and talked to the sharks, otters, and crocodiles. We had such a great time that on the way home he crashed in his carseat!

Sweet Kisses!

Anna, Uncle Paul and Aunt Julie stopped over last night. Of course we had to snap some pictures!

Connor's First Hair Cut

We took Connor to get his first haircut last weekend. He has had a few trims thanks to Noni and Sara, but we wanted to give him a big boy look. We went to Cookie Cutters out in West Chester and they did a great job. He sat in a car and played with a bucket of barrets (would you expect anything less from Connor!?) We took some before and after pictures!

Connor Turns 1!

Connor turned one on January 18! For his birthday we were going to go to the Newport Aquarium, but he was still fighting off ear infections. We ended up going out to lunch with his Noni and birthday shopping. On Saturday we had a party at our house and he got lots of presents from his cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends! He wasn't so sure about the cake, but it didn't take him long to dig in. He had a great birthday! We can't believe he's already 1!

New Year's Eve in Miami, Florida

For anyone who didn't hear about our lucky New Year's trip here's the story. Mike signed up for a contest in November for Huntington Bank. The contest was a four day trip to Miami (airfare and hotel included) to watch the Bengals play the Dolphins (transportation, tailgating, and tickets included.) When he told me he signed up, I will admit that I made fun of him and asked him if he really thought he had any chance to win a contest through a bank that we don't even bank with. He called me the week before Christmas and after I pulled my foot out of my mouth I think I apologized for poking fun at him. Turns out we made sure Connor was well taken care of and headed to Miami. We got to the hotel Saturday night and met with the woman who was taking care of our game day package. We were suppose to meet a Dolphin player/coach while we were meeting with her, but she said that Bill Parcells just left the bar! Sunday we met the group at 1030 and had a blast tailgating and watching the game! We met some of the cheerleaders and Mike was able to get their autographs for Connor and an alumni player too. I couldn't believe how nice the Dolphin fans were, but I guess they don't have too much to brag about like us! Monday Mike went golfing while I caught up on some sleep, then we went to the beach and hung out for a while. I never would have thought I would be walking in sand in 85 degree weather on New Year's Eve. We laid low that night and did a little shopping with the money they gave us to spend! Although the flight back was really rough, the trip was awesome and we still can't believe how lucky we (or as Mike would correct me - he) was to win!
